A quick three step how to guide on cleaning out your wardrobe for good!
Are you stuck in a vicious cycle of never being able to find the right clothing item in the mornings, and constantly feeling like your wearing and buying the same things over and over again. This blog is for you! Here's Our Top 3 tips on a guilt free wardrobe clean out.
1. Know where things are going.
Before you start a closet purge, decide where cast offs are going. This will help you to feel less wasteful and more inspired to continue with a complete wardrobe clean out. Choose to donate to a local op shop or charity, swap, sell or take part in a collection drive, like the 'Shed your Coat' drive, the Alliance Robes team got involved in!
The Karrinyup Shopping Centre and The Salvation Army hold an annual drive to collect winter coats and clothing items to help support the disadvantaged. Click here for more information on this great cause, The 'Shed your Coat' Drive.
2. Now, take everything out of the wardrobe, absolutely everything!
It is much easier to take everything out and put back the items you love, rather than trying to remove items from the closet that you are going to donate, sell, throw away etc. Trying to clean your closet this way and your mind set will turn into, why did I waste money on this?, or I may need it one day or "that's my if i ever go to India outfit" Avoid the guilt by taking everything out and placing it on the bed. (this may give you a chance to clean the wardrobe cabinet as well!)
3. Four categories to a cleaner closet.
Sort the items on the bed into four piles, The Love/Keep, The Maybe/Unsure, The Donate/Collection & The Cannot Repair,
As the names suggests, you can put back all love/keep items in the wardrobe and throw out the cannot repair pile. Round up items that wish you send to the collection drive or op shop and take them now! Finally for the maybe unsure items, follow this quiz.
